Molecular Sieve Overview

Molecular sieves are microporous materials with precisely controlled pore sizes that enable selective adsorption based on molecular dimensions. Smaller molecules can enter and be retained within the pores, while larger molecules are excluded, allowing efficient separation and drying of gases and liquids.

Measured in ångströms (Å), molecular sieve pore sizes are designed for specific industrial applications such as dehydration, purification, and gas separation. Common molecular sieve types—including 3A, 4A, and 13X—are widely used in ethanol dehydration, air separation, and oxygen generation systems due to their high performance and regenerability.

HYD03A

3A Molecular Sieve

HYD03A is manufactured for water and moisture control applications by selectively removing water from the surrounding environment. The addition of 3A to polymer mixtures will create an adsorbent matrix that prevents the formation of bubbles and increases the lifespan of adhesives, paints, polymers, sealants, and more. This molecular sieve offers a high adsorption capacity in both static and dynamic adsorption processes.

HYD03B

HYD03B is specially manufactured Molecular Sieve for the deep dehydration of ethylene streams by selectively removing water. This dehydration process allows ethylene to be further processed into petrochemical intermediates or plastics such as polyethylene. This molecular sieve offers low levels of ethylene co-adsorption while maintaining superior coking tolerance and attrition resistance.

HYD03C

HYD03C Molecular Sieve is used to dehydrate unsaturated hydrocarbon streams and selectively removes water from these streams. This dehydration process allows these hydrocarbon streams to be separated in cryogenic units or transported.

4A Molecular Sieve Beads

PSA Hydrogen Purification

HYG04DG and HYG04C molecular sieve is used for the dehydration of hydrocarbon streams and can selectively remove contaminants from both liquid phase and vapor phase streams. HYG04DG and HYG04C are capable of adsorbing molecules that are smaller than 4 angstroms in diameter, such as water, while allowing larger molecules, such as methane, to pass along to the desired product stream. This purification process allows the hydrocarbon streams to be further separated in cryogenic recovery and is more easily transported.

Biofuel Purification Seive

HYD05C molecular sieve is commonly used in air pre-purification units to produce oxygen, hydrogen, and other purified gases by removing water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and more from he feed stream. The removal of these contaminants is essential for compressed air systems and for purifying gas streams. In gas processing applications, Type 5A is able to adsorb certain mercaptans while still small enough to block larger hydrocarbons from entering the crystal.

HYD10A

HYD10A molecular sieve is used for deep dehydration of feed gas prior to cryogenic separation. It effectively removes water, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons, enabling efficient downstream separation and protecting compressors and low-temperature equipment.

With a pore size of approximately 9 Å, HYD10A offers high adsorption capacity for a wide range of impurities. It is commonly applied in oxygen production units and LNG/LPG cryogenic distillation systems.

HYD10B

HYD10B is specifically designed for chloride removal, including trace hydrogen chloride (HCl), from gas and liquid feed streams. It provides high capacity and rapid adsorption without promoting green oil or organic chloride formation. HYD10B helps prevent corrosion and equipment damage in commercial gas processing systems.

  • prevents harmful chlorides from corroding and damaging equipment
