Mercury Removal

Overview
It’s not uncommon for mercury to be present in a natural gas stream, and this mercury needs to be removed to help prevent corrosion throughout the processing system and also to meet environmental regulations.
Hengye’s specialized adsorbents are able to remove mercury from Natural Gas streams to produce a higher value product. Upon reaching capacity, HYG10Ag adsorbents can be regenerated, with the regeneration gas passing through a special mercury trap to remove the mercury from the regen stream and allowing the molecular sieve to be used repeatedly. These mercury adsorbents can be placed into an additional adsorbent unit, following the dehydration units, or is sometimes applied in a layered bed layout.

HYG10Ag (4×8, 8×12) Molecular Sieve
HYG10Ag is specially manufactured to selectively remove mercury from natural gas and NGLs. This purification process allows natural gas to meet environmental and pipeline specification and prevents aluminum corrosion in the cold box. This molecular sieve offers a high adsorption capacity for mercury and can be regenerated for repeated use. - • used for mercury removal from natural gas
- • can help prevent damage to the cold box
- • allows natural gas to be readily transported, liquefied, or processed in cryogenic separation
- • offers a high capacity for mercury
