Titanium Dioxide CLAUS CATALYST

Product Application

Super SulCat is specially manufactured with a high titanium dioxide (TiO2) content for the Claus Process and is typically used in the first reactor of Sulfur Recovery Units (SRUs). Titanium dioxide will increase the hydrolyzation of CS2 and COS to reform HS2, which can be converted into elemental sulfur. This titanium dioxide product offers the highest levels of efficiency, recovered sulfur, and a high resistance to thermal aging. These properties allow lower operating temperatures in the first Claus Reactor, high levels of activity during the hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide and carbon disulfide, and an increased life span.

  • high hydrolysis reactivity allows Claus conversion to nearly reach thermodynamic equilibrium
  • this product is not sensitive to trace O2 in acid gas and sulfate poison does not occur
  • only requires 3 seconds of contact time and can be used in 1200h-1 GHSV
  • offers a superior ability to cope with lean acid gas and Claus tail gas
